TOP 10 Cool Hotels in Riga (from cheap to luxury)

As a local, I am frequently asked about where to stay in Riga. Since I have worked in the Latvia tourism industry for more than 10 years, I can recommend several hotels, which offer a high class of comfort, but at the same time are budget friendly (even some of the best 4* hotels won’t cost you more than 50 EUR per night per person). All of the hotels listed below are located in the centre of Riga or within 15 min driving distance from the city centre. All prices mentioned in the review were valid for an overnight stay from 18 to 19 October 2019, and are based on a double room (source – Hotels.com). 

1. Kolonna Hotel Brigita ***  

This 3* hotel is located in the quiet residential district “Ziepniekkalns”, just 5 km away from the city centre (15 min bus ride). 
Prices for a double room per night:  from 31  EUR including breakfast. The hotel has a beauty salon Delor on the first floor with quite good prices (at least 30% cheaper than in Riga city centre), so you can book a spa treatment before your arrival. Hotel Brigita also accepts pet for extra 10 EUR per night. 

2. Primo hotel *** 

Located in the historical residential district “Agelnskalns”, this 3* hotel is just 3 km away from the city centre (10 min bus or tram ride). Primo hotel occupies a 100-year-old Art Nouveau style building that has been built by Estonian society.
Prices for a double room per night:  from 40  EUR including breakfast. 

3. Bellevue Park Hotel Riga ****

The 4-star Superior Bellevue Park Hotel Riga is located next to the historical Victory Park, 1.7 km from the city’s Old Town (5 min bus or tram ride). It offers spa facilities, a fitness room, free WiFi, and free on-site parking. 
Prices for a double room per night:  from 40  EUR including breakfast. 

4. Hotel Rixwell Elefant ****

Rixwell Elefant Hotel is a 4-star superior hotel and is conveniently located between Riga International Airport, which is a 5-minute drive away, and the city centre (10 to 15 minute drive away). Shopping centre Spice is within walking distance of the hotel and 10 km away is the famous water park Livu Aqua Park.
Prices for a double room per night:  from 52  EUR including breakfast. 

5. Boutique Hotel Monte Kristo ****

The Boutique Hotel Monte Kristo is located on Riga’s Old Town, only 500 m from the Central Railway Station. The rooms of the Monte Kristo feature hardwood furniture. Each room has a safety deposit box and an electric kettle.  
Prices for a double room per night:  from 79  EUR including breakfast. 

6. Europa Royale Riga ****

The Europa Royale Riga Hotel is located in the city centre of Riga, just 400 m from the Old Town. The hotel rooms are spacious and feature a traditional interior design with wooden furniture. Each has a large seating area, a safe, as well as a work desk. Guests also have access to the Royale’s sauna.
Prices for a double room per night:  from 80  EUR including breakfast. 

7. Riga Islande Hotel****

Located on Ķīpsala Island on the Daugava River, Riga Islande Hotel is just 1.1 km from the Old Town. This property is also just 3 minutes walk from the beach. The rooms of the Riga Islande Hotel feature a classical interior design with carpeted floors and wooden furniture. Guests have access to a free gym. Free private parking is available.
Price for a double room per night:  from 81  EUR including breakfast. 

8. Hestia Hotel Jugend ****

Hestia Hotel Jugend is located in the Art Nouveau district of Riga, a 10-minute walk from the historic Old Town. It offers an on-site SPA Center and rooms with a classic interior design.

9. Old Riga Hotel Vecriga ****

Old Riga Hotel Vecriga is located in a 15th-century building in the heart of Riga’s old town. All the major landmarks of the Old Town are near the hotel. The National Opera and St. Peter’s Church are both within 260 m. The Freedom Monument and House of the Blackheads are both 350 m away.
Price for a double room per night:  from 92  EUR including breakfast. 

10. Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga *****

If you are looking for a luxury hotel in Riga, this place is for you. Located in front of the Latvian National Opera, Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga features a spa centre and sauna. The hotel has a fitness centre and indoor swimming pool, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or a drink at the bar.
Price for a double room per night:  from 238  EUR including breakfast and access to the fitness centre and indoor swimming pool.
