Where to stay in Hamburg (Best Western Alsterkrug hotel review)

I was staying in Best Western Premier Alsterkrug hotel 4*+, which is located in the green district of Hamburg called Alsterdorf just 8 minutes ride from the airport. This is super convenient location if you arrive on a morning flight (official check-in time is from 15:00, but you can leave your luggage at the reception and go straight to the city). To my surprise, my room was already prepared and their super friendly reception staff checked-in me with no extra charge. The hotel also provides guests with free public transport tickets around the city, (believe me you will have to use the public transport a lot if you want to see as many attractions as possible).

The hotel has its own spa area with different types of saunas,  a restaurant, and they also provide you a canoe boat (free of charge) if you would like to have a canoe trip in the nearby canal.

The rooms in the hotel are of an exceptionally large size, each room consists of a hallway, the bedroom, and the bathroom. A king size bed with two duvets (so you don't need to fight for the duvet with your second half when you sleep), a large television, a coffee machine and a great view down onto the small garden below.

A nice surprise - chocolate bars and a small champagne bottle upon arrival.  Also, on a pillow, I found small Haribo pack, and a new was added each evening. With these little things, this family-run hotel had created really warm and friendly atmosphere and I felt as I was staying at home.

Breakfast. As you can expect in such type of hotels, they offer a Continental buffet breakfast. Vegetables, eggs, meat, cheese, yogurt, pastries - all-you-can-eat. What really I liked about the breakfast, is that they have a very wide selection of different teas - black, green and herbal. Of course, the waiter also will offer you a freshly brewed coffee.
